There are few instances where you need to move to your new place already in spite the fact that you still need to sell your house. It is much better if you already sold your old house before moving to your new place. All you need to worry about are the paperworks and closing agreement. However, if your house is still on the market and you are still trying to sell your old house, it can be challenging especially when you are already staying at your new place. Here are some tips to make it easier for you:
- Stay connected with your real estate agent.
If your new place is far from your old house, it is wise to stay close in contact with your real estate agent. Keep yourself updated on how many people are viewing your old house. Ask for their feedback and try to improve the things or areas that are usually have negative comments.
- Leave some furniture behind.
If you already moved in to your new place, try to leave some of your furnishing or furniture behind. A furnished house is more attractive than an empty space. If you cannot leave behind some of your furniture, try to look for staging company where you could rent furniture to fill in the empty rooms in your house. If you cannot find a staging company where you could rent furniture, you can use large photos or frames on your walls. This will also make the illusion that the house will be better looking
when fully furnished.
- Keep it clean and welcoming to prospective buyers.
If you already moved out from your old house, make sure to hire someone who will mow your lawn, shovel the snow, and rake the leaves. Make sure that all rooms are clean and stain free.
- Give your old home a touch up.
Try to improve your landscape before you leave and moved out. Try to put some fresh ground and plant new sets of flower bearing plants in your garden. Colorful flowers will add charisma to buyers.
Of course, if we were talking about a laptop, then transporting it during a move would be a piece of cake. However, a personal desktop computer is an entirely different matter altogether.
The first thing you should do before you start pulling plugs and cables is that all your files are properly organized and backed-up. You should store copies of your documents and other important files in a USB flash drive or a portable external hard disk. This way, you're sure that your files are safe. Be sure to check your CD ROM drive to see if you still have disks inside. Leaving a CD or DVD inside might cause damage to the internals of your disk drive during transport.
Even when you are already in your new home, check on how each child is coping up. Assist them in dealing with their feelings and in dealing with their new environment. Again, keep them occupied by assigning tasks during the unpacking and reorganization of your new house. If you need to pick out new appliances, let them help choose your new appliances.
