Large, elegant pieces of outdoor furniture are nice for permanent display, but inconvenient to move around. Often, people simply do not need as much or as big furniture, or else they need something that can easily be transported. This is where folding tea chairs come in. The inherent properties of teak wood ensure durability and attractiveness, while the folding chair design works where and when you most need it.

Why Teak
The first thing to look at when assessing folding teak chairs is the nature of the lumber itself. Teak has for centuries been praised as a miraculously strong and beautiful wood. Its light golden or straw color is unique, but what really stands out is why it is called the "King of Hardwoods." Teak is possibly the most durable class 1 hardwood in existence. It also produces its own natural oils that help to protect it against everything from rot, to insect infestation and molding. Teak truly cannot be beat.

Storage
Folding teak chairs are useful because they fold up to less than half their size. This makes for convenient storage options in garages, sheds and attics. Rather than try and make room in your home among the rest of your furniture, or out on your deck, you can keep your extra seats hidden away for more room.

Then, when you need the additional seating, like at a party, all you need to do is take them out of storage. It's closer and much cheaper than renting out tacky plastic or metal folding chairs for every event

you hold. This is especially true if you entertain often. After the first few gatherings, your chairs will easily have already paid for themselves.

Mobility
Also, because of their ability to be compacted, folding teak chairs are great for on the go. You can toss probably 5 to 6 seats in a hatchback or into larger trunks. Teak chairs last longer than nylon lawn chairs, which rip and rust over time, and provide more lumbar support than soft canvas chairs as well.

They are ideal for a camping trip or even a trip to the beach. Teak does excellently when exposed to sand and saltwater. In fact, one of its early usages was as ship siding and deck material. Not only is the wood resistant to damage, but it even helps to protect the metal hardware near it from rusting as a result of saltwater oxidation.

Weight
Along those same lines, folding teak chairs are also much lighter than full-sized wood or metal chairs. Their designs requires it them to be so. This makes them better for the elderly, for children and anyone else who has trouble moving around heavy objects.

Price
Teak in general is expensive because of its tremendous quality, but folding teak chairs tend to be less expensive because they use less material. You can find varying degrees of elaborateness with chairs that have or not have armrests, recline, have matching ottomans, etc. Adding cushions to these chairs is simple because they tie onto the seat and can also be removed and put separately into storage.
