If you're like most home based businesses you spent a lot of time working in your home office. I'm going to tell you some of the best tips and hacks for making your own home office more comfortable and productive. These should help you streamline your workflow process and also help with organizing.
5) Get more natural light
If you don't have ample windows next to your desk consider moving your desk to another location in the room. If this isn't possible, you could even consider using a large mirror to redirect natural light closer to your work area.
4) Keep your computer running quiet and clean
While you may spend a lot of time on your laptop it's still a good thing to have a low cost pc to use. The cost of a decent PC is minimal and it's really nice to have that screen real estate when blasting off emails and working on promoting your business. But desktops can get dusty and worn out so you need to remember to clean it out. All it takes is using some dust cleaner, a bit of oil to quiet that loud fan, and possibly some rubber shocks to absorb any rattling cases or cables. If you don't yet have a PC then consider building or buying one that is build with silence in mind right from the start!
3)
Install a whiteboard next to your desk
Even if you're on the computer all day, it's still nice to have a place to jott notes, reminders, or plans. If you don't like the standard white boards they have at the local office supply consider a glass version.
2) Keep wires tucked away and out of sight
Having wires lying out and around can bring unnecessary stress to the visual environment so you should do your best to tuck away any wires that you see hanging around. Any wires that are coming out of your computer monitors can be run down the side of your desk or attached to the bottom of it with some tape. Many desks allow you to connect the components in a hutch area and then run the cables up through a hole and into the back of your PC.
1) Make it easy on your eyes by positioning your screen at eye level
Our bodies weren't designed to sit in front of a computer all day so it's imperative to take all necessary measures to ensure your body is in a comfortable position. Most people feel the most comfortable with the screen just at eye level, or you can have your eyes align with the top of the screen. If you're really looking for something different, consider constructing a computer table that allows you to stand!
