If there is a heavy build up of dust, wipe the furniture with a soft, damp cloth that has been dampened in a mild soapy solution. Take special care not to disrupt the pattern or weave spacing of the furniture while washing it as wicker will tend to dry in the new pattern and not its original design. If strands are pulled too far apart in the cleaning process, it will dry in that position, which eventually pulls the furniture askew when it dries. Do not use your wicker furniture or place any heavy objects on it until it is completely dry. Wet wicker tends to adapt to any external force and will take the shape of the object, spoiling its original good looks.
