Choosing a new or used car is a sometimes an overwhelming task. With all the choices out there and the limitless variety of features and amenities, finding a car that is suited to your needs is an undertaking few find enjoyable. There are many questions one might have to help them narrow the field. Do I want an SUV, luxury car, sedan, or coupe? Do I want an Import or American car? What is the difference between the two?

While American cars give buyers that warm fuzzy feeling of patriotism, it may not be the best choice for savvy car buyers. If you want a car that is guaranteed to be engineered poorly, have a 10 year life expectancy, and be made by a company that may not even be in existence 10 years from now, by all means, choose American.

If you want a car that is engineered to last, performs at the peak of standards, and looks light years ahead of the selection of designs available from domestic car companies, choose an Import vehicle. Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Porsche, Jaguar. These names are all synonymous with performance, beauty, and reliability. What do you think of when you hear Chevrolet, or Chrysler? You reach around

and clutch your wallet in fear, don't you. There is no mistaking the facts.

Corporations that operate with their employees and executives in mind ahead of their costumers will not supply a product worthy of ownership. Shady deals and overpaid contracts have put American car companies into the dirt. Car companies like Audi, Fiat, Rolls Royce, and VW have names that will live on forever because they understand that it is about the executive feeling you get from sitting behind the wheel of one of their cars.

It surely is not the executive bonuses given out to their management as the companies they manage fail miserably. If we have learned anything from downward spiral companies like GM and Chrylser have made for themselves over the decades, it is that we require companies that focus on their product, not their pocketbook. No one has confidence in a company that pays its employees too much money even as it loses record profit margins year after year.

The stubbornness of American car companies to continue doing business the old way during new times is a sign that choosing an import car for your next new vehicle purchase is not only a smart decision, but the right one.
