Scheduled delivery service is when a company has an agreement with any of the Toronto courier companies. This states that the courier will make a pickup at a pre agreed upon time on a regular schedule. This can be on a monthly, weekly, or even daily basis depending on the needs the company has, their size, and the demand for their products.

However, it is a fact of the courier industry that many times clients need to cancel these orders for one reason or another. This can be either because they have experienced a lessening of the demand for their product, because they have had a problem which has halted, slowed, or disrupted production, or because of some kind of emergency of another kind which is making it unnecessary for a pickup to be made at any given time. Any company which has to make a cancellation though is immediately wary of any fees or surcharges they are going to be assessed, and as such, it is helpful to gain an understanding of how much you might be charged for a cancellation.

The cancellation fee itself is going to be set individually by the courier service in Toronto that you choose to do business with.

There is no overriding law or regulation which dictates how much they are allowed to charge for a cancelled pickup. This means that not only will the fee be different, but the company might have different regulations which influence how much that fee will be. These factors can include things like how long a company has been an account holder with the courier company, but the most common thing which dictates if and how much you will be charged is how much time you have given the company between when you cancel the pickup and when the pickup was originally scheduled to have been made.

If you only give notice on the same day that the pickup was to be made, it becomes very difficult for the courier company to make all of the required changes to their scheduled delivery routes in order to maintain maximum efficiency. However, if you give them a day, or better yet a few days notice that you won't be requiring a pickup on any given day, there is a good chance the fee will be non-existent or at least negligible, because it gives them the time they need to plan how to most effectively complete their pickup route.
