If you're ever part of a transaction which involves using a Milwaukee delivery company to move medical material in any capacity, there is a good chance that you're going to hear someone use the term "Stat" at some point in time or another. STAT service means that the medical material is going to be transported as quickly as possible, and if a courier does offer this type of service there are usually vehicles which are devoted totally to that STAT service. That way, if a need arises for this type of delivery service there is no chance of the required vehicle already being out of position on a previously arranged delivery.

STAT delivery is required for any number of different kinds of medical deliveries. First of all, there is sometimes a need to rapidly transport drugs from one facility to another. This can happen when an unexpected shortage of a particular drug or medicine arises, but can also happen when a doctor needs a drug that has not yet become readily available, either due to being a new drug, or to still being in the experimental stages. STAT service is often used to transport blood from one facility to another. This often occurs in emergency situations

where large scale problems have created a large demand for blood in a facility that may not have a large enough blood storage facility to meet immediate demand. Medical specimens which have been drawn for testing can also be transported STAT if the need for immediate results is emergent and the facility the patient is at lacks the necessary testing equipment.

Many people wonder why the term "STAT" is the one used to denote having to a rapid shipment. The term is derived from a Latin term, as are many other of the terms used in medicine. In Latin, "Statim" means immediately, and STAT is a contraction derived from that term.

In most cases, STAT delivery would be completed via a dedicated ground vehicle, like those mentioned earlier. However, there are also courier companies, (and medical facilities) which have access to an air delivery method for when even faster deliveries are required. This is typically a helicopter, and these are often used for medical deliveries where no time can be wasted. Many of the largest hospitals in major centers have private helipads for use in such situations to ensure that no time is wasted in getting the medical material to where it needs to go.
