You are nervous. You have no idea what to do. You are about to go out with a great girl and you have no idea what car to take. If you have a car but it does not look presentable then you might have to rent a car. If you do not have a car then it would be wise to rent a car to impress your date. If you already have a car and it is presentable enough then go for it. What constitutes a date car anyway?
The basic rule of thumb when selecting a car for a date is dependent on the girl and dependent on you. The car will be some sort of connecting medium between you and the girl. If the girl is simple then maybe she will get intimidated with an expensive car. If you are simple then you may not see the point in getting an expensive car for your date. If you are simple and your date is a rich brat then you probably have to cancel your date. What are the chances of you getting along anyway? You may give it a shot but it will be a very long shot.
The car is the place where you and your girl will have conversation. The car may even be a topic of conversation. If the girl knows how to distinguish cars then you can talk about it on your way to your date place. If your date does not know anything about cars then you can probably get away with a not so flashy car. You can use your personality to charm her instead. The car is important on a date because you certainly need a means to get to your destination. You may commute and take a train but the feeling of having a vehicle is certainly different.
If you are single then buying your date car will be an exciting task. You have to understand that your car is an extension of your personality. If you are driving around a Porsche then people will think of you as someone on the fast lane. You are driven and you are wealthy. You know what you are doing and you do it very well. If you are driving around in a car that looks like junk then people will think that you are not taking care of yourself. People may judge you. The world is a superficial place and these things say a lot. If you are going to buy your car then make sure that it extends your personality. You want the car to complement your personality. When you car complements your personality then you have a good chance of impressing your date and making her have a good time.
If you are married then buying a car is also going to be dependent on your wife. She may want to have a family car and you will also use it for your dates. When you are married, you'll have to be more practical when selecting a car. You have to take into consideration the children. Your date car will reflect you being a dad anyway so you shouldn't have any problems with that. You should be worried if your wife wants a car that is hot pink. You will have to convince her otherwise.
