Please allow me to take a moment to explain why you should know about cell therapy for multiple sclerosis. Thousands upon thousands of people each year are diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis, and it may affect you as well one day. In the even that this should happen to you, you should know what is available to you for treatment. One new breakthrough in technology is cell therapy. This is being researched all the time by doctors in Brazil who are allowed to do stem cell research. So without further wait, let's get into it.

Firstly, the current treatment for multiple sclerosis is faulty for many reasons. The immune modulators for MS carry severe, adverse side affects, and they do not mediate what is referred to as "reprogramming" of the cells. Have you ever seen a commercial for a new miracle medicine, and then at the end of the commercial there is a long list of bad side effects that takes the announcer a full 45 seconds to read off? Almost sounds like the side effects are worse than the actual sickness sometimes doesn't it? Well it is sort of the same deal with multiple sclerosis. The current treatment is simply not sufficient for MS patients.

The second reason you should know about cell therapy for multiple sclerosis, is regeneration of damaged neurons is also not a promoted factor with current treatment like it is with cell therapy. Cell therapy on the other hand has demonstrated strong anti inflammatory characteristics in human trials. It simply is not good enough nowadays to kill the patient while killing the disease. For ages this practice has be accepted by every one in the world because obviously it is better than nothing. But with the advances of today's technology, we now need to focus on treatments with the ability to restore that which was lost by the treatment, or seek a treatment that does not destroy at all. Stem cell research offers this opportunity, and if you or someone you know is affected by multiple sclerosis then you should definitely consult your doctor about the possibilities of cell therapy.

The sad thing however, is all of the controversy surrounding stem cell research. Time after time stem cell therapy has proven itself to be effective in many patients with many varying types of disorders, and yet the research is being prohibited in much of the world. I have to say that the most important reason you should know about cell therapy for multiple sclerosis is not only because it has been proven to work quite effectively for many of the effects that come with multiple sclerosis, but also because you can make a difference. Write your congressman, and let them know that you or a loved one has been diagnosed with MS, and that you have seen great breakthroughs in technology where stem cell therapy is concerned. Tell them you would like them to do what they can to further the cause, and help scientist be able to research in order to help more people. Your voice can make a difference.
