When you're choosing a courier service for the first time, you might not know all the details about how these companies work and what the rules are for delivery companies. For example, many people don't know if all courier drivers wear uniforms or not. When you're talking to a Minneapolis delivery service it is a good idea to ask about their uniform policy because every courier company is in fact free to set their own. These range from couriers that have no dress code at all, to those that have a dress code but no uniforms, to, of course, the courier drivers that will be outfitted from head to toe in their companies gear. Once people realize that these companies are free to set their own policies as far as uniforms go, the next question is typically whether or not this should be a factor in which courier company they decide to go with.

First off, don't let the fact of whether or not a courier company wears uniforms lead you into thinking that they are a better or worse courier based solely on that fact. There are many reasons that a courier company might decide to affect any kind

of a uniform policy, and most of these have nothing to do with how good they are at getting your packages where they need to go as fast as possible. Typically, the couriers that do decide to have their drivers wear uniforms are doing so for marketing purposes, as they want to be sure to promote the image and the brand of their company wherever they go. As a rule, larger couriers are always going to have some sort of a uniform in place, where smaller, more locally operated couriers may not.

The only reason that you should let uniforms play a factor in your choice of courier company is if you're worrying about the image that your own company is projecting. Because you aren't sending representatives of your own company out to make your deliveries, the only visual impression that your clients are going to have of your organization is going to be the couriers that make your deliveries. Knowing what you know about your own corporate image should help you decide whether a uniformed or non-uniformed driver. A company with a more professional image might want uniforms, while those aiming for a more casual atmosphere might not.
