When the time comes to purchase a newer car than the one you have already got, you have one decision to make with two available options. Firstly, you can head straight down to a local main car dealership, such as one that sell Audi cars exclusively, or take the used car route, which can encompass a vast array of different car buying methods and opportunities.

For a substantial amount of people, buying a used car is the only way to go. They are generally cheaper than buying a brand new car and if full and extensive research has been carried out prior to any purchase being made, they can be just as reliable as a brand new car, too.

However, the people who only buy used cars in particular often forget some of the many positive points that come with and are associated with the purchase of a brand new car from a main dealership.

To start with, the reliability of the car is literally guaranteed. For the first three years at least, main dealerships will provide you with a full and extensive guarantee, in the form of a warranty, which should something go wrong with the car that is related to a manufacturing problem, they will repair the fault completely free of charge. Furthermore, some dealerships offer five year warranties, giving that extra peace of mind for a full sixty months worth of car driving.

In addition, many people fail to realize how many benefits are provided in terms of the actual car

and its accessories. Not only are newer cars built more environmentally friendly and therefore have a reduced car tax banding that will save the car owner money, but they are also sold with all of the bells and whistles that are possible for that model, such as built-in satellite navigation systems and parking sensors through to CD multi-changers and cruise control systems. These additions may not be important when looking for a car initially, but they can be missed massively if another car is bought that does not have them.

It must also be remembered that although the cost of the car may seem substantial at first, particularly when compared to its second hand counterpart that is one or two years old, in essence, as with all things in life, you get what you pay for and new items are almost always more expensive than used items.

For example, if you were purchasing a washing machine or tumble dryer, you would expect to pay considerably more for a brand new model than a second hand one, even knowing that should you look to sell it on in one or two years, you would have to reduce the price considerably, whether it was still in brand new condition or not.

Of course, there is also the point of being able to say you own a brand new car. It may only be a positive aspect for your social life, but it can bring a tremendous boost to your confidence and aid your own self esteem considerably.
