If you have ever through of becoming a licensed plumber, you can train to be a plumber and take courses right from the comfort of your own home or through a conventional or technical college. Plumbing ask that an individual be knowledgeable in commercial and residential plumbing and many other structures as well. Not only do plumbers work installing new pipes, fixtures and fittings in a variety of places, they also work on existing pipes, water heaters and areas that are water regulated.

Find Yourself an Apprenticeship
An apprenticeship will be the first stride you will take when you train to be a plumber. An apprenticeship to learn plumbing will probably take about three years, but you do not always have to work for free. You may be pleasantly surprised to find that many apprenticeships allow you to make money while in the process. When you are finished with your apprenticeship, you may apply for a plumbing license and you may now take a state exam that allows you to receive your license.
There are many knowledgeable plumbers that will be more than glad to take you under their wing and help you get the experience you will need to get your
own plumbing license. Dedication and the willingness to learn all you can during your apprenticeship will turn out to be beneficial when are ready to work as a fully licensed plumber.
Two Types of Plumbing License
There are two types of plumbing license, a master plumber and a journeyman's license. It will be up to you to decide which one you will want to try for. Most start out with a journeyman's license, since they mostly have only the required minimum of experience. As time allows them to gain more experience, most then try for their master plumber's license. Again, every state's requirements are different in obtaining a master plumbing license, so you should become familiar with them.
You may be able once you are licensed within your state, to work in other states that are neighboring yours. This will also require you a particular state and their requirements. You will need to be 18 or over to try for a license; however, you may train to be a plumber and work under someone and to begin your apprenticeship if you are not yet 18. The sooner you start, the quicker you can be on your way to becoming a plumber.
You may decide that you want to go in business for yourself or work for someone else, either way you will have the chance to make great money when you train to be a plumber. Working for someone else may mean a little more job security and guaranteed pay than if you choose to work alone.
