Sourced from Japan, the Akita remains unchanged despite the years. Nowadays it is regarded as the national dog of Japan and there was even a place dedicated for the breed; the Akita region. This dog was basically bred for dog fighting and hunting purposes although it is now found in every home because they make a great companion and protector.

If you would like to have Akita pups, you first need to understand the dog's characters and needs. It has a horizontal head that seems like a rounded triangle. The triangular eyes are distinctive and they are set deeply on the head while their ears are wide and erect. The body is strong, muscular, and seems to be longer than their actual height. The coats are available in medium length and a soft undercoat is beneath. It has thick legs that contain webbed paws which is the reason why they make excellent swimmers. The Akita is available in color brindle, white, sesame, and red fawn.

Understanding how to properly take care of Akita pups should first begin on what foods you can give. This puppy should be fed with plenty of water all the time. Depending upon your time, you can have a free feeding or choose to give two to three feeding session per day. There is a need to entice the pet to eat, not merely on the beginning but for the next 5 to 7 months ahead.

It will be helpful to have a dry kibble available at all times although having warm water mixed

with quality food is needed in order to soften the food. Furthermore the act of mixing egg yolk, canned milk, tablespoon of cottage cheese, butter, yogurt, oil, sardines, canned dog food, or other "good' foods as well as clean leftovers will make the food enticing but it is important not to give plenty of leftovers.

It is critical to give the proper amount of food to allow Akita pups to grow rapidly. Give treats such as a biscuit in the afternoon. On the other hand, if you are somewhat bothered that your pup is not eating well, seek veterinary help the soonest.

The most important rule is that you must supervise that your puppy is heavy in weight but not to fat. In case weight lose is observed, it may fairly be hard for you to get back on the right shape since this breed find it very hard to obtain proportional head size again. Keep in mind though that this problem is not genetic, rather environmental which simply sum down to the fact that you're neglecting your duties towards the dog.

If you wish to give supplements, most breeders recommend giving Iodine, Zinc, E, Cod Liver fish oil, Biotin, C, and maybe B-12 can be administered when needed. Although you can give other kinds of supplement, be wary since there is always a risk for over supplementing. Now that you know some facts about Akita pups and how to properly take care of them, you may want to practice these guidelines to your Akira pups.
