Taking care of your skin is one of the most important things you can do because your skin in the largest organ in your body. During the summer months, it is especially important that you take care of your skin because those months tend to put the most strain on your skin out of any of the months in the year.

This summer, you want to make sure that you are fully prepared for the harsh sunlight and long days. Here are some great ideas to help you keep your skin safe from the rays.

Your number one defense against the sunlight and harsh UVA and UVB rays from the sun is a good sunscreen. Although avoiding the sun altogether is the only way to ensure protection, that doesn't sound like a very fun idea. Therefore, you want to find yourself a sunscreen that will protect you from both types of rays.

The sun can be a really great thing for your skin, and in fact, the sun provides the important vitamin D which it needs to stay healthy. However, those harsh rays are not needed for your body, so you want to lather up as much as possible.

sure you apply sunscreen whenever you are planning on going outside, even if you aren't going to the beach. The sun doesn't just live at the beach and it can get you and burn your wherever you are. Try to stay out of direct sunlight during the harshest times of the day. This usually means mid-afternoon because it is when the sun is most directly above you. Although going out to tan during this time will provide you with the most color, it is also when the sun's rays are most likely to burn you and give you bad things like skin cancer.

If you are planning on being outside all day during the summer, an important thing to remember is a hat. Your nose and face get burned the worst because it is the most sensitive type of skin on your body and it protrudes the most. By wearing a hat that has a nice bill on it, you will protect your most important aspect of your body, you face.
