After the industrial revolution, manufacturing processes went from hand made goods to mass produced items that can be turned out faster and with greater consistency from the beginning stages that combine various components for assembly to the final packaging for sales of the manufactured goods.

Throughout every area of commerce there are factories that incorporate large bodies of machinery that are used to mass produce all sorts of consumer products and industrial components. On production lines specially designed equipment that is used to create, assemble, or finish raw materials and combine them into retail items, often involve several processes that each require a distinct part of the system to supply a new element to the complex development of the final goods that will be shipped to market.

Because of their intricacy many of these large assembly mechanisms have hundreds of moving parts that often incorporate the technologies of vacuum pumps to either include a suction cup, for picking up small components or ingredients for the finished product; or push away unwanted debris and left over materials from the assembly line.

With some complexes manufacturing as many as 100,000 items an hour (as in the processed foods industry) the reliability of the equipment is essential to the demands of the marketplace that seems to absorb each article that rolls out of the facility and onto the shelves of the local grocery store.

At times when fabrication is stalled by a broken or damaged part of the apparatus and the work is halted it becomes necessary to indentify, locate, and fix the problem as quickly as possible so that the company profits which are directly linked to the ability of the line to fill the orders can continue to be made.
