Knowledge is power, and that power is held by every American citizen who takes their role in a democratic society seriously. When individuals cease to understand, know, and act in honor of their values, they lose the power they hold to make a difference. We have to gain knowledge from our resources around us, such as from conservative news sites, as well as our own research based on the information we obtain. Knowing what our individual values are and what issues are taking place around us are two key components to getting involved.
It is difficult to jump into a debate or take a stand on a subject when you have little or unfactual information to work with in the first place. There are six key topics to familiarize yourself with to become an active part of a discussion or a solution to important matters.

One is homeland security. This matter concerns us all as American's and we should know what our local and National politicians are doing to keep America safe, or on the contrary, how they are putting us in jeopardy due to social importance.
The next is border and sovereignty issues. Keeping up with current immigration updates can help us become better connected with our individual communities, safety, reform, and volunteer opportunities.

The third issue to know about is politics and

economics. This is where true patriotism is shown and carried out. Knowing what campaigns are circulating and what their purposes are will ultimately allow you to interfere where necessary, thus maintaining our democracy. Delicate and important matters are constantly at a battle ground- those who are there to fight it will win it.

Terrorism is the fourth concern. Global and national terrorism affects everyone. Terrorism has had many doors opened to it, including the internet. It is every person's responsibility to be alert and informed of what is going on around them. Tuning into conservative news sites will help one stay on top of real issues, not ones that government wants you to concern yourself with. Knowledge will aid your actions when it comes to fighting terrorism in your country, neighborhood, and even in your home.

Energy and environment are the last major concerns to gain knowledge about. One's faith or central beliefs can be questioned when it comes to this matter, which is why it is so important to gain facts and knowledge rather than going off of pure media. Twists are eligible with every television story covered by the media, so getting the facts lined up with honest resources will be your best ally.

Give yourself more power and understand how to use it with daily knowledge of the world around you.
