In the modern world that surrounds us the ability to pick up a phone and reach anyone at anytime is something that people typically take for granted. In this technological age of cellular devices traditional telephone services are beginning to fade away as mobile devices are allowing individuals to travel freely and still be reachable. Even with hard wired cables providing internet services to residences and businesses there are some households that have given up their dependence on a telephone line and opt in favor of using strictly cell phones to make calls to and from their house.

Communication over wireless networks is nothing new and while portable telephone devices allow individuals to go anywhere with their phone there are still areas of the world where signals can be lost. Even when circuits that connect mobile technology to hard line carrier waves there is no guarantee that in an emergency the call demand will clutter the network and render even the most sophisticated piece of equipment useless.

For emergency broadcasts and coordinated transmission between public servants, such as police, fire, and emergency response services the preferred method of communication is via HYT radio. Using a short wave signal to send and receive messages the quick responders can continue to speak to command centers in areas where other telecommunications products cease to function.

With a range that can carry a radio signal over many miles the public servants are able to keep in touch in some of the most remote situations that they are called to.

Fire fighters working on a brush fire in the mountains are able to speak to support aircraft and arrange safe drops of water or other agents to combat a blaze without endangering crews on the ground. And rescue workers that are searching for a lost hiker also incorporate the use of shortwave radios to coordinate their efforts and systematically eliminate regions that have been looked at before.

Even the trucking industry makes use of the ability to talk to drivers on the road as well as informing dispatchers of their location and estimated times of delivery. While technology has provided satellite communications to bounce signals across the globe in milliseconds there is still a need and practical use for the HYT radio transmitters and receivers that have proven to be more reliable to first responders than other forms of wireless technology. Without having to wait for a network signal connection or a busy signal when a line is tied up emergency personnel and public servants are able to perform their duties and direct their labors with organized precision, to safely and securely serve and protect the general public.
