Weddings are not special enough without the speeches. These speeches for weddings are a necessary ingredient to complete the wedding ceremony. One of its primary uses is to recognize and praise the couple's efforts. It usually talks about the bride and groom as individuals, as a couple, and their relationship. This may also signify the couples' parents' best wishes for them. It may also be given by a close relative of either the groom or the bride or both to recall memories telling the crowd how they were when they were still kids. If given by a mutual friend, it will usually be about how they become a couple and how colourful their relationship is.

If you are tasks to do a wedding speech for your close friend or relative, there are number of things you need to consider. First is, you need to know that giving out speeches on special occasions like this needs proper preparation since it usually only happens once in a couples life. Second, you need to know and be able to differentiate different kinds of wedding speeches so that you will be able to deliver not just the best but also the appropriate wedding speech for the couple.

Before even deciding what kind of speech you want to compose, take into account the guests on the wedding you are attending. Check if there would be a lot of children or certain groups who would be offended on some jokes that you usually crack.

In general, there are three types of wedding speeches, the funny speech, the sentimental speech, and the serious



speech. The following would be a rundown on each speech's advantages and disadvantages so that you will be able to make a sound decision on which one you would deliver.

If you deliver a funny speech, you will be able to kill boredom, it lightens the mood, and you will be able to get every one's attention. Everyone loves a good laugh so your speech will bring out all the guests together sort of like an audience, watching your performance. Disadvantage is that, you might not be as funny as you think you are or worst is if your joke would be offending to some of the guests.

Sentimental speech shows that you really care for the couple. It is definitely heart warming if delivered correctly and everyone would feel it even more if the bride and groom would shed a tear or two. The thing is if it gets too emotional or personal then you might be excluding your audience and they might not even understand what you are talking about.

Delivering a serious speech would be appreciated by the couple especially if it is a really good message or advice that they can take note of. However, if not done correctly, it may sound that you are preaching.

Now that we have identified each of them, it will be up to you which of the speeches fit more to your character. This way it would be easier for you to deliver, and everyone will enjoy listening to it specially the newlyweds.
