It is really very painful to suffer from dry cracked feet. It is vital to know the exact causes of it and hot one can prevent them from re-appearing. Once the treatment starts, continuing it is perhaps the best way to keep the cracked feet at bay.

It is possible that the skin anywhere on the body can dry up but feet are extremely sensitive to such an attack. The body produces sebum that is body's best answer to dryness but areas such as feet and palms lack the glands that produce sebum. Hence, the moisture evaporates very quickly and it becomes dough to work on it over and over again. Dry skin can also be because of nutritional deficiencies. Vitamins A, B, C, D and E are needed for the skin to look soft and stay soft. Rubbing a lotion of the feet may seem an obvious choice but it is temporary. What a person needs is a more sustainable solution to this problem that can hinder the dryness from appearing again.

Exfoliating the skin works like a charm on dried up feet. Make sure to moisturize the area after exfoliating. Repeat this procedure daily and the condition will improve automatically. Once the changes in the skin are visible, cut down the exfoliation to 3 times per week but continue to moisturize daily. It

is impossible to just exfoliate and have great feet because there would be no moisture for the skin to work with. Exfoliation will not be able to prevent future cracking in absence of adequate moisture. Even the moisturizing would not do the trick alone. Moisturizing would not be effective because the dead skin would not allow the moisture to get under it.

For the first time, the exfoliation needs to be intense. This has to be done to completely break the barrier of dry and dead skin. Regular exfoliation is also needed to make sure that the cracks do not come back.

Moisturizers should be needed because they help supply the requisite amount of moisture. Although make sure that you avoid moisturizers with mineral oil. Mineral oils are known to restrict the moisture to seep because it creates a barrier. So, even if your moisturizer has all the essential ingredients and you are doing everything right, it would not make a difference at all. Instead look for jojoba oil in the moisturizer. It works just like the natural oil in your skin and thus it can easily be absorbed.

Sure it is possible to get great feet but you need to put in some efforts for it. Right kinds of ingredients at the right time are very important to see the results as soon as possible.
