I have suffered back pain since I was 16 years old. My life of back problems started when I was hit by a van going 45 miles an hour, full-force on the highway. The collision not only totaled my car, shattered all my windows but put me in a hospital for 3 days. When I got out the whiplash was so bad I wore a brace for a month. Pretty embarrassing for a high schooler.

Regardless, little did I know the severity of issues that would arise as I continued to become an adult. Something as simple as bending down to pick up an object would jolt my back into a screeching pain & I would end up on the couch for 3 days.

I've been through everything fro chiropractic to acupuncture, medical doctors, x-rays, loads o f Advil & painkillers. No one can seem to figure out the perfect method for prevention. The medications only deal with the after affect, there doesn't seem to be any perfect formula for prevention.

And by the time you are suffering & dealing with the after affects, you're mad and angry at all the time you've lost being incapacitated.

So how to prevent? Being aware of what



is best for you & your body is most important. Taking action on dealing with stress which ignites the dormant pain the most. Stretching, yoga, creating balance & a simple life are all great aids.

But this stress is hard to gauge so being aware of things that cause stress in your life should be top of mind. If you also have a family then it will be even more important for you to take care of yourself. So you can continue to be around for those who need you and depend on you for financial and emotional support.

Frequent deep tissue massages dissipate the affects of acute & chronic pain. Changing your environment, being ergonomically smart when you are working & eating healthy all come into play.

With medicine being so advanced these days, there still is no perfect treatment for back issues. If you're symptoms are so severe to need surgery, you still will suffer for months & perhaps years. Natural & homeopathic methods work better towards prevention & fixing the problem permanently. There are many alternatives so find one that works for you.

Whatever chronic or acute pain you have, tackle it immediately & don't wait-you will suffer in the long run.
