There are some very creative ideas for using unique Christmas decorations in your home during the holiday season. It can sometimes prove to be a little difficult since most people have some decorations in common, but you can always add a little creativity to something and call it all your own and others will appreciate your personality shining through your decor.

Since most people who celebrate Christmas have a tree up on display you can count on that as being a common decoration. Although you can try something out of the ordinary like an upside down Christmas tree that is placed in the corner ceiling of a room, you will be surprised how many people will look at that and say, "I've never seen that before". This can be an excellent way to make quite a statement. You can find artificial trees in a number of different colors. They are available in red, purple, black or all white, just to name a few. You can easily select some unique Christmas decorations and your tree is the perfect way to start just search for what will suit your needs best, along with that of your family.

In addition to your tree being a choice of unique options, you can find garland in an array of colors also similar to artificial Christmas trees, there are choices of white, red, silver or heavily flocked (to simulate snow). These are more examples of unique Christmas decorations you may decide on to stand out above the rest of your friends, family and neighbors.

Even if you don't

have an unusual decoration, you could choose to decorate in an unusual way. Say for instance you have a small space you would like to adorn for the holiday season and you do not have the luxury of buying large scale items, well in this case you need to be creative with your space. If there is no room for a Christmas tree use your fireplace mantle as your canvas, hang garland in a swag from one end to the other and use this as your "tree" to put ornaments on, this will be a creative and unique Christmas decorations display for your small space.

Hand made decorations is another perfect way to make your homes unique Christmas decorations speak for themselves. An adorable idea is to use candy, like gum drops for example. You can make your own front door wreath by purchasing a Styrofoam wreath and a huge bag of gum drops, and toothpicks. Stick your toothpicks into your wreath and then top them with the gumdrops.

This will be a creative display that you may not have seen before. If you like this idea, you can adapt it and create ornaments for you tree, create gumdrop topiaries and they will all tie in with the colors of the holidays. Make sure on the other hand that you watch little ones who may feel inclined to take a bite of your unique design. Anything you make yourself, or with your family will be all that more special to enjoy for the Christmas season and many years to come.
