Do you often have teary, watery eyes and blurry vision? If so you may be suffering from dry eyes. That's right one of the symptoms of dry eyes is excess tearing. Tears act as a lubricant to help keep our eyes from drying out and becoming irritated resulting in itching, burning and that gritty feeling that if prolonged can result in having occasionally blurred vision.

When your eyes begin to dry out your eyes simply naturally tear in an effort to lubricate the eye. However, if the eye has dried out past a certain point those excessive tears simply don't seem able to do the trick.

There are a variety of causes for dry eyes including environmental conditions such, as sun, wind and pollen. Central heating and air conditioning can also cause your eyes to dry out as can pollution, hormonal changes, wearing contacts, ageing and certain medications. For some, dry eyes is a temporary condition, for others it may be a semi permanent or permanent condition that can interfere with the quality of their life. While dry eyes is a very common condition the fact that many people suffer from this condition from time to time does take away from the discomfort and inconvenience this condition may cause for you.

Whether a temporary or a permanent condition those whose dry eyes are accompanied by blurry vision find it difficult to do many things that they want to do. Reading, computer work and even watching a program on television is difficult as is driving and other activities for which

you need reasonably clear eye sight. Blurry vision can make even the simplest task more difficult and a difficult task impossible.

While blurry vision especially in cases where your dry eyes are a temporary condition may come and go in short spurts there are times when your vision remains blurry not only making your normal tasks difficult but frustrating as well. Resting your eyes may help, but often if something isn't done to lubricate the eyes the dryness and the blurry vision quickly returns.

The most common treatment for dry eyes is eye drops. Having good quality eye drops on hand and using them at the first indication that your eyes are becoming dry can add moisture to your eyes and prevent your vision from blurring altogether. If your vision has already become blurry using high quality drops to add moisture to your eyes can help clear your vision and help you to see clearly again.

It's nice to know that whether your dry eyes are a temporary or a permanent condition there is something out there that can relieve some of the symptoms, help your eyes feel less dry and irritated and have you see clearly again. Choosing eye drops that are made to be long lasting and following the directions for applying them correctly can help you and your eyes feel better. While you may not be able to prevent your eyes from drying out you don't have to suffer from this condition. There is help available if you do your homework and choose wisely.
