So many of us claim that we do not have the time to exercise, yet we spend a half an hour on the phone or an hour watching TV every day. Really? We do not have the time? The key to sticking with a regimen for fitness for women is to really understand all of the benefits that go along with daily exercise. Knowing about and understanding are two very different things.

We seem to have become a society of people who always want to know Whats In It For Me? and this is fine, but if we dont see results right away, many people tend to abandon their efforts. Part of the problem is that so many women feel so bad about the way their bodies look that if they exercise they would have to face their bodies every day. Unfortunately, for many it is easier to go grab a sandwich and lose ourselves in the world of television than it is to work out at all, and this is the vicious cycle we get caught up in very easily.

However, there are many women who actually avoid exercising because they are afraid of bulging muscles. For real! However, women do not develop huge muscles even when they work out with weights; we do not have the chemical make



up in our bodies that men do. It is true that you will build your muscles, but you dont have to worry about looking like He man. Did you know that the more muscle mass you have the more calories you burn? This is because the muscles need more calories to maintain themselves and work. More muscles dont just make you stronger, they suck out the calories from your body quicker, too. There is one hidden benefit that many women dont realize about sticking with a fitness for women regimen.

Did you also know that long term exercise can help women avoid an entire slew of health issues? We have all heard that it can fight off cardiovascular disease and help maintain lung function, but did you also know that it can reduce the risk of suffering from senile dementia? More women than men suffer from dementia simply because they tend to live longer. What about osteoporosis? Did you know that exercise can reduce the risk of that too by strengthening the bones? Exercise will also boost your metabolism, this we already know. However, did you know that with fitness for women the metabolism stays elevated for many hours after a workout is finished? So even after youre done you are still burning calories.
