Though there are many different methods for carpet cleaning. And this is usually the same whether you are in Charlotte, North Carolina or in Boulder, Colorado. Many of them involve big heavy machines that many different professionals need to come in and help with. The truth is, many people who need carpet cleaning simply don't want the unknown strangers in their home yet are looking for affordable ways to keep the carpet in their house maintained. There are several options that residents can use to clean their carpet that don't involve professionals, and at most, require simply renting a small machine.
One of the ways residents are carpet cleaning by themselves is with a method called dry absorbent. This is a way that many people think about cleaning their carpets when at home alone. This particular method requires going out and getting a compound at a local hardware or general store that is used for carpet. It is typically found in a powder like form. The homeowner will also need to buy a carpet cleaning brush as the bristles are designed specifically for getting stains and clutter out of carpet.
When using this method and carpet cleaning the resident will need to sprinkle this new compound that they have bought (it should be a solution that has many detergents and solvents in it, ask a local store clerk with any questions) and then they must use the brush to brush in and around the carpet. It is okay to use force if the stain is tough but make sure not to put too much of the solution onto your carpet as it could cause build up that you are unable to get rid of later. if the homeowner would like to rent one, but the brushes tend to be cheaper.
Once the soil has then been broken apart and brought to the surface by the solution and the brush, it then simply needs to be vacuumed away to disappear. It is not advisable, while carpet cleaning, to use this method on extremely deep carpet, as it may be hard to retract all of the solution you have emptied onto the carpet, causing more build up and residue.
Another great do it yourself technique for carpet cleaning is to use dry foam. Basically, instead of getting the powder type solution at the store you will instead get a foam solution at the store (dry foam). This type of method does require that you rent a machine, but it is not a big machine and can be used with much ease at a much cheaper price than hiring a professional company.
Some of the machines that residents will rent or buy while carpet cleaning will come with their own cleaner, but it never hurts to have your own. This dry foam machine that you rent will work the dry foam solution into more of a whipped type foam. The machine will then use the brushes on the bottom of the machine along with the whipped foam to clean your carpet. After all of the soil has surfaced it is best to then use a wet vacuum to remove the soil as well as the remainder of the sudsy foam.
Although you can always use just plain soap detergent and a regular scrubbing brush to try and take away the stains in your carpet, the methods mentioned above work quickly and precisely on all of your carpet woes and worries.
