It's generally known to homeowners what to do in case of food spillage on the rug or carpet. But what about a more serious-seeming problem like that of blood stains? It actually turns out that carpet cleaning is not made too difficult by the possibility of blood stains. It may be important to add that this article is meant to incorporate small blood stain removal into your carpet cleaning routine - not to encourage ax murders to off their wives and hide the evidence.

Attempting to hide blood stains cause by any type of crime is actually illegal, as it is destruction of evidence - so don't do it. Let's keep carpet cleaning safe and legal. (In any case, even if you were attempting to hide evidence a lawyer would be a greater help than an article about carpet cleaning.) And now: on to carpet cleaning and blood removal.

As with any stain on your carpet, when dealing with blood stains it's important to act swiftly - waiting until later to remove the spot will only make the stain more difficult to deal with. That's carpet cleaning in rule numero uno: don't wait. Get yourself a towel (one that can willingly take the hit of a blood stain), and soak up whatever blood hasn't already attached itself to the carpet fibers. The next step is to apply a foam shaving cream to the spot. The foam will work to soak up the blood. Rinse the stain spot and check out the results. If there is a leftover blood spot remaining on your carpet, then apply a bit of hydrogen peroxide - though you must quickly rinse this

off. If that doesn't solve the problem either, then you're going to have to call in a professional that delivers carpet cleaning in and you're also going to have to keep the stain moist until the service arrives.

A recommendation that may be a bit extreme for most homeowners is to suck the blood from the carpet - which has actually been known to work. This vampire-like carpet cleaning technique works because the saliva in your mouth interacts with the blood on the carpet to remove it. Only a science geek could explain that one - but, just have a little faith. It works. It's probably only advisable to pull such a feat if the blood is your own - otherwise, who knows what you are putting into your mouth.

There are a few more stunts you could attempt when trying to remove blood and achieve carpet cleaning, including making a baking soda and water application and putting it on the spot. Let the application dry, and then rinse it off. If nothing else succeeds, try using a waterless hand cleaner, and wipe it with slightly warm water after application.

And so you can see that getting rid of blood stains in just another easy part of carpet cleaning. There is no reason why these tactics shouldn't take the blood right out of your carpet - but one last note: if you have gotten blood on something valuable to you, such as a silk rug, call in the professionals right away. "Right away" means not hiring a Baltimore, Maryland cleaning company when you are located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Look for one that can service your place immediately.
