Paintball is something to do when people want to release stress and have fun with a group of friends. However, if the players do not establish rules and a series of do's and don'ts before playing paintball, the fun can turn into a real paintball massacre. Here are 5 tips that will help players get the most out of paintball.

1- Establish all boundaries in the game field.
Unless people want to be playing the same match for eight straight hours, they have to walk the game field, and decide with their friends the boundaries that they want to set in the game field. If paintballers want to add starting bases for each team, it is much more exciting when they establish those bases on parts of the field that are not visible for the other teams. This way players have to walk the field more careful because they do not know where their opponents are.

2- Form balanced teams.
Paintballers do not want three paintball markers experts on one side and three newbies on the other side. Try to be as fair as possible, because that is the only way that people will enjoy the game more. If the teams are too big, it is best that they wear some cloth around the neck, or arm to identify all their teammates. Paintballers could also use colored tape.

3 - Mark a dead zone.
The "dead zone" is the field area off the game field to which players have to go once they

are eliminated. Ask that nobody shoots paintballs near this area because the dead zone is much more like a rest area, and players are not required to wear any safety equipment in this part of the field.

4 - Always wear safety gear.
Paintballers should try to always wear paintball mask, long-sleeved shirts, long pants, and a barrel plug, or barrel sleeve. The barrel sleeve is an optional safety device that could save players from a hit if a gun goes off accidentally. This device is best to use if participants are new in the game. Also, it is not a bad idea to wear a cup for the crotch area; that is just in case somebody wants to play funny on their opponents.

5 - Establish a time and a game objective.
If participants want to have more fun playing this sport, they need to establish an objective and time limit. A simple elimination game is not as fun once people become more familiar with the game. It is best to add an objective like reaching a flag that is in the center of the field, or capture the flag and walk off the field with it without being hit by another player. If participants do not want to spend a lot of time playing the game because everybody is scared and hiding somewhere in the game field, then paintballers need to establish a time limit to eliminate the most players out of the game, or to reach the flag.
