It is home to more than hundred and thirty species of four hundred individual animals. The park is accredited by the American Zoo and Aquarium Association. The aim of the park is to educate people about the conservation of some endangered species and to develop an understanding about their natural world.
The Greenway and Nature Center of Pueblo is a great place to visit as it offers ideal settings for several recreational and educative activities. The recreational activities include wildlife sighting, kayaking, nature trails, fishing and picnicking. The major highlight of the center is the Raptor Center, a rehabilitation and nursing center for several wild and resident birds. The city of Pueblo is a proud host of the single largest event of the state known as Colorado State Fair that takes place in summer every year.
