Roger Williams Park is one of the major attractions of the city that
stretched over an area of about 427 acres. The park has got its name after the founder of the Providence City, Roger Williams. This magnificent park was designed by Horace Cleveland in 1878 and its construction was completed in 1880. The park comprises seven lakes that cover around 98 acres of area. The park also houses Roger Williams Park Zoo, Roger Williams Botanical Center and Roger Williams Park Museum of Natural History and Planetarium.
RISD Museum of Art is an exciting and must visit place, if art is the thing that interests you. RISD Museum is a marvelous art school that exhibits artifacts from the antiquity to present day. The museum houses more than 85,000 fabulous works of art collected from all over the world. It also exhibits a collection of artifacts that represent Providence's history as a prominent and important center of jewelry and silver.
Trinity Repertory is another not to miss attraction of the city. It is a magnificent old theater exhibiting the features of an outstanding regional theater. The theater has also bagged the prestigious Tony award which is placed in the lobby of the theater. This is one of the best places in the city that exhibit a great and perfect balance between world premiers, contemporary and classical works for its estimated audience. The theater has produced around fifty six world premiers and it has given training to hundreds of promising actors and directors.
