For years, professionals in the carpet cleaning industry have known about using encapsulation but have not known the technology well enough to guarantee its use. With new technology coming out on encapsulation, carpet cleaning may never be the same.

This technology, although only being used now, has actually been in existence for almost two decades. The reason that professionals in the carpet cleaning industry have not used it is because there was not enough know about polymer. Recently, there were new advances brought forth in the field of polymer which have allowed carpet cleaning professionals, and professionals all over the world, to better understand, use and guarantee encapsulation.

The process of encapsulation came from the residue created by what people refer to as carpet soap. Carpet cleaning professionals warn about this all of the time as the residue is quite frequent with home owners who rent a machine and try to clean their carpets by themselves. Encapsulation was supposed to be the solution to this problem, but there was always something about its formula that made it not just quite right for broad use. What's new about encapsulation now is not that it exists, but how it has changed and how carpet cleaning professionals will be able to use it. This is great news to everyone especially those who are living in busy cities like Charlotte or New York and rely heavily on carpet cleaning professionals.

The first encapsulation service added the compound of Ludox. This compound actually goes into all of the deep grooves of the carpet fibers and helps to stop soil from clinging to it, which in turn, helps to keep the carpet cleaner.

But, with this great new technology came a slight problem noticed by the many in the carpet cleaning industry. Ludox, though helping to keep carpet clean, was also negatively affecting the way the carpet looked in the light (or making the carpet look ugly).

This is why detergent encapsulation was formed because it helped to go into this solution and make it easier to rinse out, which in turn, helped to lead to better looking carpet. Now the problem with this, noted by carpet cleaning professionals, was that when rinsed too well, the chemical of Ludox was then not helping to save the carpet as much which defeated the purpose of using the chemicals at all.

With another attempt, almost ten years later, another new technology created left a substance on the fibers of the carpet that allowed soil to actually slight directly off of it. This is what was considered a second coming of encapsulation by professionals worldwide, including carpet cleaning professionals. The downside to this technology is that it helped to trap moisture in the carpet which gave it a greasy feeling. So it was back to the drawing board.

Finally, scientists have come up with the (hopefully) last version of encapsulation. It is an entirely new solvent that is completely from scratch. There are no additives to it so there are no side effects like before, and the new solvent takes all of the residue and soil collected that is mashed inside of it and strips the carpet of this debris. Then the carpet will vacuum like new. The final evolution of encapsulating has made many in the carpet cleaning industry very excited.
