One of my favorite ways of using digital photos for something unique is making a collage. I might put dozens of photos together and print the result on an 8x10 or an 11x14. Where I live in southern Ontario, Canada, an 8x10 can cost as little as $3 at a one-hour print shop, and looks great hanging on my living room wall in a frame.
